Work 101

How’s work goin’ for ya’? TGIF, am I right?

The week’s almost over. As I looked forward to the weekend, I looked at my diary to see what I did last weekend. Whether you finish yours on Saturday or Sunday, do you remember how you spent last weekend?

I got to catch up with family and friends last weekend. @stevecbc gave a class on work. He called it Work 101 and I took notes …

If work is a good thing, not a bad thing, then why can work so often be so difficult, so frustrating, so stressful, so exhausting, and so unfulfilling?

  • God gave Adam work to do as a gardener (Genesis 2:15)
  • God gave Adam freedom to eat from any tree in the Garden of Eden except for one (Genesis 2:16-17)
  • Adam sinned my eating from the one tree that he was not supposed to eat from (Genesis 3:6)
  • Adam’s work as a gardener became difficult as a consequence of his sin (Genesis 3:17-19)

SIN … To be continued …

He said he’d give us some tips for work next week. I couldn’t wait. I’ve thought about it all week. What would work be like without sin? I hope someone takes notes next week. Even though I’m retired, I could use some helpful advice.
